This little booklet is a wonderful companion to our many ABCs of Virtue products. It calls itself an “elevated alphabet” that invites children to “Appreciate your home,” “Brighten someone’s day” and “Create new memories.” Similar creative exhortations take them through the rest of the alphabet. Charming illustrations by Elaheh Bos reinforce the message, and create a spirit of encouragement rather than lecture.
This is a book that can be read to very young children, and talked about with older children. Read the whole book every night at bedtime, but pick one page to discuss in depth. “What does it mean to ‘Nurture your heart?‘ How do you ‘Explore your feelings?‘” The number of conversations this book could inspire is limitless.
While our many ABCs of Virtue products introduce children to the names of virtues, this little booklet helps put those virtues into context as actions.
It is virtue-focused rather than religious, so it is a great gift for schools, daycares and libraries, as well as any family with young children.
It is 24 pages plus cover. It is has a stapled binding, so it lays flat for reading, but it looks like it is perfect bound. It is 5.5×5.5 square.
