A World of Prayer – Interfaith Prayers for Children
It is never too soon to develop understanding and respect for other cultures and religions.
We’ve upgraded our incredibly popular pamphlet-style booklet A World of Prayer into a larger, brighter, more beautiful gift book. It introduces children to “A World of Prayer” through a sampling of short prayers from ten different religions, plus a new section of universal prayers. Each section includes representative pictures of children of each culture. Children will see themselves represented, and also see their friends and neighbors in a respectful setting. This will help them gain a better understanding of how our differences aren’t so different after all.
In addition to being a great educational tool that can be given out at children’s classes, festivals and interfaith events, the prayers themselves are a source of comfort and inspiration. This makes them valuable additions to hospital waiting rooms, homeless shelters, children’s services offices, and anywhere there are children who might be feeling stressed and in need of some Divine assistance.
I encourage you to click on the pictures and get a feel for the welcoming and reverent attitude the pictures and prayers present.
The new gift edition is 4.75×7″ (the same size as our Book of Comfort and Healing) instead of 4×6 (the size of our prayer book), and has a separate heavy glossy cover. The inside paper is heavier and glossier so the pictures really glow. The type is larger for younger eyes. We also added three more pages of “Universal” prayers for strength, hope, peace, bedtime and more. Even with all of these upgrades, they are still incredibly affordable – especially in bulk. So you have a choice as to which one to give to children’s classes or leave in a hospital chapel. To order the original, click here.
In healthcare settings, this is a great companion to our Book of Comfort and Healing, which is an interfaith booklet organized by topic. It contains scripture focused specifically on health and healing and the soul.
Another good companion book is The Interfaith Prayer Book. It is a more general book of prayers designed for adults. It is organized by religion rather than by topic. It includes beliefs about prayer from the six major world religions, appropriate clip-art of Holy Places and symbols, and a diverse selection of representative prayers for each religion.
All three of these booklets are wonderful ways to make people of every faith feel included. They are appropriate for any setting in which people from different backgrounds might come to pray or celebrate together.
This edition is designed to be given as a gift or purchased in bulk and given away. It is 4.75×7″ full-color throughout with a separate heavy cover, saddle stitched (bound with staples), and 24 pages long plus cover.
